Marie-José Tassignon is Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, University Hospital Antwerp, Belgium. She is President of the European Society
of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). She was Chairperson of the Residency Review Committee from 2000 to 2004 and has also served in the CME Committee. She is an Editorial Board Member of Comprehensive Ophthalmology.
Her specialties are cataract, corneal and refractive surgery. Her first education
was in the field of vitreo-retinal surgery.
