Mission & Duties

One of the tasks of the Education Commission of the European Board of Ophthalmology (EBO) is to help establish a common European educational standard in Ophthalmology.

Organisation of the EBOD
One of the methods of the EBO Education Commission in fulfilling this task is to organize EBO examinations (see EBOD).

Bank of MCQs
MCQs are always built to follow the same format (see examples).  They are collected by the Workgroup of the MCQs who check their form, verify their content with an expert of the field and arrange their translation.  They can be collected from the accredited courses or from the examiners just after the examination.

Curriculum workgroup
The aim of the curriculum workgroup is to define a comprehensive list of topics of knowledge, to stimulate students according to their different levels of training and to follow their acquisition providing them with a guidance of the students to share their time between different topics.  One part of this syllabus involves the adaptation of the list of references to help students during their training.
